I go to the one in Bonita Springs (off of 75)...

What I do is just play my three numbers straight then box for tri's...

In every race...then forget get about them..until the end...

In the mean time, I cap the REAL races...:drink:

I've had pretty good success w/ this method...cause

I can't let the action on the board sway my decision..

hence, not betting w/ the crowd...

I've brought in some nice tri's ...:103631605

Fish...they have a great poker room there as well...always packed

plus some real good eats....

all around nice place...

I used to walk around w/$15k in pocket...all from dogs...TIL:think2:

the lotto came along...

it's about risk vs reward...

you tri/keyed longer dogs anywhere's from $48/60 a race...w/pay-off between $300-400

you ave. "hit" 1/4...you do the math:smoker2:

then lotto..same pay-off's became $150-200...but SAME odds:ohno:

BECAUSE...lower pools AND higher track take-out to survive!

again..do the math..

needless to say...now...just BUY GOLD or bet nba/college BB...steal the cANDY!

ps...if you must bet dogs...

a) don't bet every race
b)bet the a race were there's ONLY one dog w/clear early speed and KEY around IT...lotta wrecks/crash's on the 1st turn!!!!!!!...you'll avoid them!

I have lost everytime I have been to the dog track. I look at it as just having some fun.

Horses are the toughest game but the dogs are impossible.

Greyhounds its best gambling in the world...

I am very happy with greyhounds.....

Eight years in the betting world...
Two times hit the twin tri but never a tri-super.

Just have to invest few time on this sport. Like others...:cripwalk:

Roger Waters plays the dogs.

Was at his concert years ago and he took a Q@A and a girl asked him what he does in his spare time.

He said he likes to go to the dog track, struck me kind weird.

I have owned a racing Kennel in Oregon and I owned and raced one that won 118 races which at one time placed him number 8 in the History of dog racing. Since then He has dropped to number 13. His name was Macho Mutt and held several track records including an 18 race win streak. To answer the question posed in this thread... Can you win wagering on the greyhounds ? My answer is very simple ... No way ! Why ? The track takeout is far too great ! Let me add another fact. Being a owner and breeder and sometimes trainer and often times acting like a Vet out of necessity, You can't make any $$ being a kennel owner either ! Greyhound racing has seen it's day and is now a fraction of it's former self.

Hey kermit. I remember your dog very well.

I have played the dogs for about 35 years now. I started at Sodrac Park in North Sioux City, South Dakota.

Has anyone ever been to Sodrac. It was one of the biggest tracks in the nation at one time. When Bluffs Run opened up in Omaha that was the demise of Sodrac.

Casino gambling and the boats have hurt the greyhound industry bigtime. People nowadays want fast action and do not want to wait around 15 minutes between races.

I still wager at the OTB at Palm Beach and Raynham in Boston. Massachusetts banned greyhound racing after a general election in November. The PETA people ran a huge smear campaign and got it banned. The last races will be in December of this year.

It is pretty rough winning with any consistency at the dogs, but I really enjoy handicapping and watching them run.
